Long-form content—articles, essays, reports—often has one big idea and several supporting points. That structure maps well to a Twitter thread: one tweet per point, plus a hook and a closer.
Break it down
Identify the main argument or takeaway, then list 3–7 supporting points. Each point becomes one tweet. Keep tweets under 280 characters; use line breaks. Start with a tweet that promises value or sparks curiosity; end with a summary or question and a link to the full piece. A thread doesn’t need to cover everything—focus on what’s most shareable.
Generate a thread from text
If you prefer not to draft by hand, use a tool that turns selected text into a thread. SnipPost lets you highlight a section on any webpage and generate a Twitter thread (and other platform formats). You get a draft to copy and edit. Install from the Chrome Web Store; free tier gives 10 generations to start.
